One of the first curated books of Australian mobile photography, the publication is the result of a nation-wide competition seeking photographs of Australian suburbs shot and processed on mobile phones. Held during October last year, the Instaburb competition was facilitated by the photography-sharing social media application Instagram. The images included in the book were selected from over 2,200 submissions across Australia.

Held in Melbourne on Friday 13 April at the headquarters of internationally-renowned magazine Dumbo Feather, the book and corresponding one-night exhibition featured 50 photographs from 35 Australian photographic artists, capturing slices of suburban life in cities and towns all across the country.

Instaburb was created by mobile photographers and active Instagram users, Oliver Lang and Misho Baranovic.

Instaburb is proudly sponsored by BlurbCarter Digital and Dumbo Feather.
